My Marvellous Melbourne is produced by staff and students affiliated with the Melbourne History Workshop in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne, under the direction of Professor Andrew May.

Our segments combine stories, interviews, personal reflections and memories that interest and inspire us about the social history of the city and suburbs. My Marvellous Melbourne draws on and adds to the resources of the Encyclopedia of Melbourne project, which you can access freely online.

Favourite places, food and leisure, the city of the senses, sources and resources, exhibitions, environmental issues, archaeological sites — we hope that there is something for everyone in our selection of stories about the people, processes and institutions that make up the rich history of Melbourne.

If you like what you hear, and have more to add on any of our podcast stories, we’d love you to write something on our blog. If you have a burning query about any aspect of Melbourne’s history, drop us a line and we may be able to follow it up in our Can We Help? segment.

We acknowledge the support of the University of Melbourne Melbourne Engagement Grants program.
